Our Curriculum
Our Curriculum at Warmsworth Primary School
The over-arching aim for our curriculum at Warmsworth Primary School is to equip all of our children with the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need to be valuable citizens of the 21st Century.
At Warmsworth Primary School, we aim to provide all of our children with a creative, broad, ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum, both within and beyond the school day, which not only enables them to have as many experiences as possible, but helps them to be engaged and actively involved in their own education.
We want all of our children to have high self-esteem, high expectations and high aspirations for themselves and others.
Our curriculum is personalised to our school and local context, and we go way beyond the expectations of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum.
We carefully sequence our children's learning to develop their academic knowledge, skills and understanding; develop their personal and social skills, and support their emotional, mental physical well-being, so that every child can achieve their future potential.
Each term, the teachers plan exciting areas of learning for each year group based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum requirements and beyond.
We further enhance our children’s learning through our high-quality learning environment and resources, offering opportunities beyond the classroom, including outdoor learning in our woodland area and gardening activities.
We are committed to developing our children’s self-esteem and well-being through their day to day learning, our extensive Personal Education Curriculum and our commitment to raising aspirations for all pupils through developing their enterprise skills and careers education.
As a result of our personalised curriculum, our children are confident and knowledgeable with the skills and understanding to become valuable citizens of the 21st Century.
