Hot weather update
We have been really impressed with how our children and staff have adapted to the last two days of extreme hot weather - thank you to you all for your support.
Many children have attended school today and yesterday in their PE kit, or cooler versions of their school uniform, to assist them in keeping cool and there has been a colourful array of children wearing their hats to and from school which has been lovely to see. Children have been located inside for the majority of the day and we have managed to keep classrooms as cool as possible. When children have been outside their time has been limited to a maximum of 20 minutes, they have been located in the shade and encouraged to drink lots of water - the 'water police' around school have also been checking constantly, with many children clearly understanding the importance of hydration and on their second or more bottle refills of the day. Our air-conditioned computing suite has certainly been more heavily in demand over the last 2 days and we are looking forward to lower temperatures tomorrow. We look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow, with a return to more 'normal' temperatures.
Thank you again for your continued support,
Mrs Train
