Year 6 Science Discovery Session - The Heart

Monday 31st October wasn't just Halloween but one of the scariest days in school for "some" children - but not for long.  Mrs Brammer and Mrs Roe planned an afternoon of science discovery about the heart and the circulatroy system, and we had REAL hearts and lungs to look at!!!  After the gasps of fear and excitment, the children were engrossed in their learning.  They read about the heart, watched videos about the heart and how the ciruclatory system works, used finger pulse readers to take their pulse before, during and after exercise and they got to look at and hold a real heart.  It was a fantastic afternoon and the knowledge the children acquired during the session was fantastic.  We are looking forward to developing our learning more over the coming weeks.
