Year 3 - Deaf Awareness Week 10.5.22

Year 3 have been reading, writing and signing all about Deaf Awareness Week. We now know that deafness and hearing loss can mean different things to different people, and we have learnt lots of strategies to make sure we are communicating well with deaf people including facing the person, speaking clearly and making sure we use our usual volume to avoid causing any discomfort. Lots of children are excited to research BSL (British Sign Language) and learn some more signs at home.
