Y1 History of Toys Workshop

The children in year one had a visit from Tom and his many toys.  The children learned about toys from history, starting with the humble stick and working up to a robot dog.  They got to play with toys that were popular in Victorian times, toys that originated in the 50s/60s and also some from the 80s/90s which Miss Spree and Mrs Lewis remember from their own youth.
We discussed the different materials that toys are made from and this linked to the science we are learning about this half term.  We used our imaginations, interacted with our friends, pushed and pulled a variety of toys and all had a fantastic time.
