Welly Wednesday Shock

Date: 21st Jun 2024 @ 1:56pm

F2 set out on their Welly Wednesday walk this week looking at how we can look after our local environment. We found evidence of how Mrs Carey looks after the school ground when we found some newly planted trees. Mrs Carey also showed the children the newly planted fruit and vegetables in the school poly-tunnel.

When we reached our woodland area however, we were very shocked and upset to find a large amount of litter. We collected all the litter that we could find and brought it back to the classroom, it is pictured below. F2 have discussed the importance of taking our own litter home with us if we can't find a bin and also the negative impact that litter can have on the animals living in our local environment.

We have all pledged to work together to keep our woodland and school grounds tidy and litter-free.
