Soup making

This half term we have been looking at different recipes and what features they need. We have discussed and used imperative verbs to command an instruction when making something or doing something. We have read the text 'Oliver's vegetables' and sequecned the story. We have discussed harvest and what vegetables we can grow in the UK. We have been for a walk to the polytunnel to see what has been growing.  

The children have learnt how to grate, peel and chop vegetables. We have taught them to chop safely using the bridge and claw grip. Please ask your child to show you and encourage them to help cook at home using their new skills.

We designed a vegetable soup, prepped and cooked the soup. We then tasted and evaluated the soup by how it looked and what it tasted like.
