Year 1 Outdoor Parent Session - Stickman

Today we invited the Year 1 parents to join us in the woodland. To warm up on this very cold morning, we found a hiding place until Miss Spree called us back using our '1,2,3 where are you!' We had to sneak as quiet as we could back to Miss Spree without her hearing us.

Miss Spree shared the story of The Stickman and then we had to go and find a stick. We then had to use our imagination and the stick had to turn into something and then we shared our ideas with each other. Some sticks became wands, some were swords and some were even pens! We then had to go and find two more short sticks.

Miss Spree then modelled how to knot the sticks together using a sheath knot and a square lashing. Everyone worked hard to create either a Stickman or a Stick Lady Love
